Eastern Community Homes and the Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) invite you to a webinar to explore how partnerships can provide community led solutions to housing projects.

About this event

Eastern Community Homes  and the Rural Community Council of Essex are working together to deliver a webinar to explore how different partnerships within a community led project can provide innovative and enduring solutions to housing issues.

 

When and where

This is an online event taking place by Zoom on Monday 13 June at 12.30pm. The event is scheduled to last no more than 90 minutes.

What should I expect?

The event will be chaired by Nick Shuttleworth, Chair of Eastern Community Homes and Executive Director of RCCE, and attendees will hear from a number of speakers on topics including community engagement in place shaping.

Our intentions are:

  • To inspire communities to undertake community-led housing in the East of England.
  • Hear aspirations of the Church of England on affordable housing and possible land opportunities.
  • Share community experiences of partnerships with Registered Providers.
  • Share Registered Providers' experiences of partnership with communities.

 

Who's speaking

You will hear from:

  • Rt. Revd. Dr. Guli Francis-Dehqani, Bishop for Housing,  speaking about the Church of England's Coming Home report at a local and national level.
  • Paul Gayler, Strategic Housing Services Manager for Chelmsford City Council, speaking about the role of Local Authorities in enabling partnerships.
  • Carroll Reeve, Chair of Lavenham CLT,  introducing their completed project and their experience with their partners.
  • Isobel Wright, Regional Development Manager at Hastoe, with their view of the same partnership.
  • Alex Templeton, Innovation Lead at Community Works CIC, to introduce working towards zero carbon affordable housing.
  • The session will conclude with a Q&A session featuring all our expert speakers, facilitated by Nick Shuttleworth.

 

Who should attend?

This event will be of interest to any individual or organisation with an interest in furthering community-led housing and understanding how it might help deliver sustainable growth. This will include:

  • Local Authority Members and Portfolio Holders for areas such as housing, planning and growth;
  • Local Authority Chief Executives and Officers, particularly those dealing with strategic housing and planning policy;
  • Community-led housing groups in the East of England;
  • Registered housing providers operating in the East of England;
  • Anyone else with an interest in this topic.
